Restraining Orders

Restraining orders prohibit the respondent from having any contact with the victim. If the respondent doesn’t abide by this action, they can be arrested. Victims of domestic violence are able to apply for restraining orders against former partners, family members, and spouses.

Civil Harassment Orders

A civil harassment order prevents the harasser from being within a certain distance of the victim. These orders can be issued even when the harasser and victim have no prior relationship, as long as evidence of harassment is presented to the court.
